Spring in Florida

Great Egret, Ibis

You might not think there’s a lot of difference in the Florida ambience, and truly, there’s not a big difference unlike the New England weather and landscape.  But there are some things I’ve noticed.  Like the birds.  They just know it’s spring.  It’s nesting and babies on their mind. We went to the Wakodahatchee Sanctuary in Delray Beach to walk the boardwalk and watch the wildlife, especially the birds.  Instinct says ‘mom will do anything to preserve the well being of her babies’  Mother storks were feeding their young and it didn’t look like fun, but it’s the way nature put it together.  On the other hand, the fish were also nesting;  blowing very clean circles in the mud to lay their eggs. It’s all quite amazing isn’t it?
